Gaja
The nose is a potpourri of rose petals, violets, juniper and incense. Sweet cherry, strawberry, raspberry notes on the palate, with hints of thyme and anise. The fruit is balanced by bright acidity and suave tannins, and the wine will age superbly. The six-hectare, south-facing Conteisa vineyard is at an elevation of 380m in Cerequio, la Morra. Soil is composed of calcareous marl and sand, and the mature vines are around 65 years of age.
