Berthier Sancerre Rouge La Croix Renaud

Berthier
Jean-Marie Berthier, a highly skilled wine producer from Loire valley, created this estate in the early 1980s. Today, his two sons Clment and Florian have taken over the domaine to produce a distinctive range of wines, covering a variety of styles and Loire appellations as the estate has expanded. Having previously worked in Burgundy, New Zealand and the USA, Clment and Florian brought a modern approach; looking to produce clean, precise wines which display a distinct sense of their origins, including some of the finest red wines of the Centre-Loire. Sancerre is known for its white wine production but as the climate changes it has displayed its capacity for outstanding Pinot Noir. The Sancerre Rouge La Croix Renaud is made from the first parcel of Pinot Noir planted by Jean-Marie Berthier in the 1980's, grown on clay-limestone soil. The grapes are rigourously sorted after harvest. A cold maceration occurs prior to the 16 day fermentation with twice-daily pumpovers followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine is then aged for 9 to 12 months in French oak barrels before bottling. Grape: 100% Pinot Noir. Tasting Note: An outstanding Pinot Noir which offers up aromas of delicately spiced bramble fruits, cinnamon and a hint of truffle. Soft and broad with a finely woven texture and classy long finish. Food Match: Perfect with roast duck or chicken. Closure: Natural Cork Farming Practices: Contains Sulfites Vintage: 2015 Download Product Info: (https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ectaowmgl3cgbg/Vignobles%20Berthier%20Sancerre%20Rouge%20La%20Croix%20Renaud.pdf?dl=0)
